Games Workshop is currently releasing a round of balance updates for each army in Warhammer 40K. Needless to say, the emperor is not smiling down on Adepta Sororitas today.

Adepta Sororitas Gets Nerfed

This was the year I got into Warhammer with some buddies, and I immediately gravitated towards Adepta Sororitas. Their lore and gameplay mechanics are very cool. For those of you fellow Warhammer nerds, I am painting my minis in the color scheme of the Order of the Bloody Rose.

A few weeks back I actually played my first match, and I had a blast… mainly because I was playing against an army that Sororitas are basically made to fight and was extremely lucky. But, even in this situation where the odds were in my favor, I could still see the gameplay mechanics playing out and thought they were very cool.

Well, it was announced that Adepta Sororitas is getting nerfed. In these nerfs, one of the main aspects that Games Workshop zeroed in on is the miracle dice mechanic. Miracle dice are a staple of their gameplay; miracle dice are canonically blessings from the Emperor, where the player can collect extra dice that they can replace normal roles with. Basically, if you roll a one in a critical moment, you can use one of your saved miracle dice to switch it out with a higher number.

These nerfs, amongst other things, reduce the amount of miracle dice you can create and guarantees less sixes overall. This is not a good day for Adepta Sororitas. I’m sure the sisters will recover, but today, us Sororitas players are pouring one out. It’s a tough day.
