I have shockingly realized that I have not covered Star Wars or Lego once on my blog, despite them being really big parts of my life. I think part of this comes from the fact that there are just so many things that I engage with now. Plus, specifically in the case of Lego, it can cost a lot of money to engage with.
However, both of these brands are still important to me. I have so many great memories connected with both and have a ton of memories connected with Lego Star Wars. The games, the sets, the TV specials… they’re really special. So, as with every year around May, I was curious to see what Lego Star Wars sets would come to coincide with the celebration of Star Wars Day. And, well, the sets this year are… genuinely some of the best they’ve released in years?
Revenge of the Sith Blowout… Kinda

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Revenge of the Sith, and Lego capitalized on it big time with… one set. Yeah, this is kind of a strange situation, as the 40th anniversary of Return of the Jedi got several great sets, including a BrickHeadz collection. This year, though, we’re only getting the BrickHeadz collection, but luckily, this is one of the best BrickHeadz collections we’ve ever gotten. General Grevious and Mace Windu alone are huge, but including Padme, Anakin, and Palpatine too… it’s a great lineup.
The prequels did receive more love, as we’re getting a few Jango Fett related sets – a Jango Fett helmet that looks pretty good and a UCS model of Jango Fett’s ship. The UCS model specifically is crazy, but it’s nice to see a good variety of Star Wars time periods represented.
Some Sequels Love, Too!

Just like with Jengo Fett, we’re also getting two Kylo Ren related sets – his helmet and a small model of Kylo Ren’s shuttle. These aren’t super exciting to me, but I do really respect and enjoy the fact that Lego is releasing more sets for the sequels. I’m always down for some more Kylo Ren sets.
And Finally…

The incredible new Star Wars logo set is my favorite of the bunch. I’m a sucker for sets like this – just a nice, clean display piece. It is sad that the Marvel logo equivalent to this received minifigures of the key Avengers, while this set doesn’t have any. But what it lacks in minifigures, it makes up for with a simply beautiful design. I’m surprised that they were able to match the shaping of the logo so closely with Lego.
And that’s about it! There were a few other stragglers, but these were the main ones that piqued my interest. Are any of these sets on your wishlist? Anything you wish we saw but didn’t?
